I joined orkut not long time back, sometime in September, 2007, mostly because my friends were pushing me to open the account at orkut. I was so lazy to reply to their e-mails that they were getting angry and advised me to open the account at orkut. Finally I decided to open and since then I have become orkut addict. Orkut has given me more visibility. I have got some wonderful friends through orkut. Thanks orkut, it’s an wonderful social networking site, I must say.
I opened my first orkut community on September 16, 2007. It was a community related to Durgapuja, Bengali’s biggest festival. It got huge responses initially and members from all the parts of the world shared their experiences of Durgapuja festival, down the memory lane as well as of the present. As this festival does not only mean worship to Goddess Durga, it means a lot, the members also shared their experiences on Get-together with friends and family members, pandal hopping, eating out, reading Puja Barshikis (festival issues), traveling etc during the festive season. After Durgapuja, the community changed its theme to "All Festivals" and aligning with its theme the new name it got Baro mase tero parbon, which you know is a Bengali proverb, means festival all year long.
You can have a look into that community at orkut. The link is given below.
